Injury scare for Angelo Mathews during New Zealand Test
All-rounder Angelo Mathews copped a blow on his hand during Sri Lanka's ongoing Test against New Zealand.

Mathews was rapped on his right index finger during the 22nd over on Day 1 of the first Sri Lanka-New Zealand Test in Galle off a William O'Rourke delivery that nipped back. Physio was immediately called, however, Mathews continued to bat for another over before deciding to retire hurt.
He has been assessed to be fit to bat again, with no fracture but just a minor swelling.
The veteran all-rounder came into bat when Sri Lanka were reeling with two early dismissals of their openers Dimuth Karunaratne and Pathum Nissanka. Mathews played 55 deliveries for his 12 not out before retiring hurt.
Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first. The hosts finished with 88/2 before Lunch was called with Dinesh Chandimal attempting to rebuild with his knock of 30* while O'Rourke, playing his third Test, snared two wickets.
