West Indies coach speaks out
Daren Sammy is staying positive despite his side’s perilous position in the Super Six standings.
West Indies’ loss to Netherlands in the Super Over, coupled with victories for Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka in their final group games, leaves Sammy’s side already four points off the qualification spots with a maximum of six points remaining available.

But the coach and former T20 World Cup-winning captain says that he’s staying positive.
“I’m a very positive thinker and I understand the journey that I have to take with this team," he said. "Sometimes you’ve got to reach rock bottom go come back.
“I understand the challenges ahead, and I also understand that things won’t change overnight. It’s a true reflection of where our cricket is at the moment and we have a lot of work to do.”
Stirling shines once more

That century helped Ireland to an impressive 349/4, the second-highest total in their ODI history, and proved far too much for UAE.
How the Super Six works
Points earned in the group stage against other teams that also qualify for the Super Six are considered in that stage of the Cricket World Cup Qualifier.
The net run rate from matches against other teams to progress from the group are also carried over to the Super Six stage.
That means that Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka are in a strong position with four points each in the Super Six standings, with West Indies and Oman in trouble on zero.

Tuesday 27 June saw all of the fixtures, venues and dates confirmed for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

So whichever two teams do progress from this tournament, they will know exactly what awaits them in India later this year.
CWCQ – The format
Two groups, each made up of five teams, have played a round-robin series within their group.
The top three teams in each group now progress to the CWC Qualifier Super Six stage, while carrying over their results from the two matches against the other teams to advance from their initial group.
The teams that have progressed to the Super Six stage will now play the three teams to advance from their opposite group to complete the pivotal match-ups.

The remaining four teams participate in play-off matches to determine final placings in the qualifier.
The top two teams at the end of the Super Six stage will book their ticket to the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 in India later this year, while also facing off in a CWC Qualifier Final on 9 July.

Netherlands, Oman, Scotland, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Zimbabwe make up the teams to have reached the Super Six stage of the Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2023.
Ireland, Nepal, UAE and USA are the four teams to miss out from the group stage and head into the playoffs.
